Admin Learning walk to Milton-Freewater, Athena-Weston, & Pendleton

Join other administrators of all levels and school sizes, to go on a learning walk at local schools to practice doing teacher observations, collect data around instruction, and share ideas for supporting teachers in being reflective in their instructional practice through intentional conversations.

We will collaborate as a group about best practices, use an observation tool, and become familiar with a bank of questions for post-observation meetings.

8:30 -9:00 OVERVIEW of the day- at Gib-Olinger Elementary in Milton-Freewater, OR

1. Introductions
2. Debrief the day
3. Discuss the look-fors and process while in classrooms
4. Discuss the talking points, giving feedback, collecting documentation
5. Leave notes for school and staff

9:00 - 10:00 Classroom visits: Gib-Olinger Elementary- Sarah Ensusa

1. Quick overview about the school from the principal (10 mins)
2. Room assignments- where do you suggest we visit? (need about 6 classrooms)
3. Observe (about 10-15 mins per classroom)
4. Back to meeting space to debrief (20 mins)

10:00 -10:30 Travel to Weston-McEwen High School

10:30 - 11:30 Classroom visits: Weston-McEwen High School in Athena- Morgan Rauch

1. Quick overview about the school from the principal (10 mins)

4. Back to meeting space to debrief (20 mins)

11:30 - 12:45 Travel and lunch in Pendleton

1:00 - 2:15 Washington Elementary in Pendleton- Heidi Paulus
