Join EOU Professor Karie Smucker for a math instructional learning session focused on using open-ended "notice/wonder" tasks. In particular. participants will learn how to use a 3-act structure, where students investigate a real world question that they have generated themselves based on a video or image. This session would emphasize open-ended problem solving, seeing multiple solution paths (presented by students), and using estimation (too low/too high estimates) as a way to "jump start" students' investigations.
